Alma do Paço

It is believed that the name ‘Paço’ (pronounced Passo) means ‘ancient palace’.

Once upon a time in 1368, there was a king, Fernando the 1st, who wanted to build a palace to enjoy the summers with his lovely lady Leonor. On top of a hill in a little town called Ericeira, he planted his flag and decided “This is it – paradise found!”

Fast forward to 2023,

the Manueline-style masonry ruins are still visible from where you lay by the pool, relaxing like a king. Experience that majestic feeling that will be locked into your soul, or – in Portuguese – your “Alma”, forever.

Alma do Paço stands for traditional heritage-style with contemporary comfort. Whether you book a family room or a romantic double room, there will be no difference in the way you`ll feel immersed in our holistic leisure experience. All guests have free access to the communal areas: our 14th century chapel with plenty of rustic charm, honesty bar, the incredibly impressive ruins area, our pristine pool with plenty of hidden corners and sun lounge and of course the firepit for cozy bonfires under the stars.

      Ein unglaublich toller Ort in bester Lage und einer unbeschreiblichen Atmosphäre! Die Zimmer waren alle sauber und jedes ganz individuell eingerichtet. Wir hatten die gesamte Unterkunft für uns und eine unvergessliche Zeit mit unseren Freunden. Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich, bemüht und hilfsbereit.       We attended the Kids in the Castle event at Alma do Paço. It was a beautiful event with lots of activities for the kiddies, bouncy castle, face painting and even a treasure hunt!
The event had wonderfully catered food and drinks for both the kids and the parents.
